Product<\/h3>\n

Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> is a solvent-free bitumen adhesive for sealing sheet pile interlocks before driving or threading the sheet piles.<\/p>\n

Application<\/h3>\n

Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> has excellent adhesion to metal substrates. The compound is fluid, soft to viscous or hard, depending on the ambient temperature.<\/p>\n

The compound also prevents soil particles from penetrating into the sheet pile interlock and thus also prevents the piles from seizing during driving. Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> also reduces interlock friction by acting as a lubricant.<\/p>\n

Properties<\/h3>\n

Bitumen does not contain any water-soluble or water-polluting substances. Due to these properties, bitumen is classified by the Commission for the Evaluation of Substances Hazardous to Water as not hazardous to water (German Federal Environment Agency, bitumen identification no. 326).<\/p>\n

Processing<\/h3>\n

Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> is heated to max. 200 \u00b0C in the suitable indirectly heated stirrer cooker. Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>must be heated gently, removed continuously and heated no more than twice. Once the mass has cooled, the sheet pile can be further processed.
\nThe average consumption is approx. 0.35 kg per running metre of sheet pile interlock. The sheet pile interlock must be dry, clean, free of loose parts and free of grease, oil and dust before casting.<\/p>\n

Overheated casting compound should no longer be processed. During the cold season, Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> should be stored frost-free (+5C) for at least 12 hours before processing.<\/p>\n

Storage<\/h3>\n

Melavill\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> is packed in folding cardboard coated on the inside. It must be protected from sunlight, UV radiation and extreme external influences such as heat, cold and moisture.<\/p>\n
