Sheet piles

Sheet piles are made of steel (steel sheet piles) and driven in individual sections as single piles or double piles by interlocking locks (claws) of special construction machines (mäklerramme) to form a sheet pile wall (steel sheet pile wall).

The sheet pile wall (steel sheet pile wall) is a shoring for securing excavation pits or terrain slopes, which can also assume a sealing function.

Sheet piles are used both as new sheet piles (new piles) or, after temporary use of new piles, as used sheet piles (used piles).

Sheet piling profiles differ in their shape and material thickness. The best known are hot-rolled sheet piles and cold-profiled lightweight sections in U-shape and Z-shape.
